Emerging from Winter.

Fri 8th Apr 2011

Sorry, any of you who have looked at my News page over the last few months will have discovered that I am not very good at posting. I have finally emerged after the long dark winter into the bright sunshine of the spring like a fusty mole. I have been busy all winter though. Weather permitting I have been going into Leicester to the Print Workshop and working alternatively on my reduction Lino prints and a project piece for my lithography apprenticeship. The project piece is a poster to celebrate the workshop's 25th birthday. My tutor, Serena Smith and I have a little piece about the apprenticeship in the Spring issue of Printmaking Today.

I've also got a piece in Leicester Print Workshop's Smallprint:Big impression exhibition. The exhibition is currently at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester, it opens at it next venue, Derngate, Northampton on 7 May. For full details of tour and view all the prints see http://www.leicesterprintworkshop.com/smallprint/

During the winter evenings I have embroidered some more Contemporary Pixies. I have sewn another eight, including Michelin man, Scotch tape man and the Marmite couple. I have another six drawn up but it is harder to sew in the summer when the garden calls. They still all need edging, so in reality it will be autumn before any appear on the website.
